Welcome to my CODING JOURNEY

APP CREATION
I always see mummy buying things online through an app on her mobile phone. I think it is very cool, easy to use and convenient. One day I hope I can create lots of useful apps for everyone.

But so far, I have learnt to use the MIT app to create games and some useful daily life app!!! I hope that i can learn to create more apps in the future to make our life easier.

In this course, I learnt about Android mobile app development using MIT App Inventor, a visual programming environment that allow me to build fully functional apps for Android smartphones.
With mobile app development, I learnt to put on 2 different hats: designer and programmer. I have to first take on the designer hat to design a user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing application, before going to the back end to put on the programmer hat and work on the codes to link the different components together.
Through the app design, I have learnt and appreciated the importance of user-interface and user-experience, acquiring the knowledge on app tidiness and readability of codes. Some of the highlights of my App projects include:
-
Chat group, understanding the use of tiny web database
-
Language translator, understanding the use of dictionary in app
-
Monster Chomp, understanding the use of orientation sensor
The learning went a notch higher when I realised that my app can eventually help society upon my exposure to design thinking towards the end of the course. With the understanding of artificial intelligence and database systems, I created his app prototype “TRANSLATOR" for my final project, an app that helps people to translate foreign languages into English.
Useful App for daily use like Translator, To Do List, Chat App
